This is the cake I created for my daughter's Tinkerbell Party. It was made to be the same as the house which Lizzy catches Tinkerbell in the movie Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue. Bottom layer is double jaffa mud cake and the roof layer is rafaello mud cake. The house is covered in fondant textured to resemble tree bark, as is the verandah, posts and little door made of fondant sticks with a daisy door knob. The roof is covered in green fondant leaves which have been brushed with edible lustre poweders of green, gold and brown. The faux chimney (I think that is what it is supposed to be anyway) is stuffed with fondant dandelions and daisies. I also added a little welcome front door mat. Tinkerbell is a doll. I did not attempt to create her from fondant as my daughter wanted the real thing to play with - and to go along with all the other fairies from the movie which she received for her birthday. TraceyX

It was my daughter Ellen's 9th birthday yesterday and she absolutely loves fairies. She is always writing little letters to the fairies in the garden asking "can I please meet you?. I promise I won't hurt you" and "can I please have some pixie dust of my own?". In fact yesterday morning when Ellen was playing outside before school we found a little fairy statue with a note reading "Happy Birthday Ellen, love from your friends the fairies". So of course Ellen is having a Tinkerbell party. This is the invitation I created... These are the cupcakes I made for her to take to school to share with the class. Butterflies, snails and daisies. Stay tuned to see more of my creations for Ellen's Tinkerbell party. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLEN!!! Tracey X |
