On the weekend we hosted my SIL's Jungle safari themed baby shower. Mum made the savouries, my SIL's best friend did the games (they both did such awesome jobs) and this is was I created... 1. baby shower bunting hung over the dessert table 2. the cake - bottom layer is dark chocolate mud coated in dark chocolate ganache and the bottom layer is vanilla malt mud cake coated in vanilla malt buttercream icing (my SIL has been drinking lots of vanilla malt milk since being pregnant). Both layers are then covered in fondant and decorated. 3. macaroons with lemon curd filling 4. the invitation 5. hummingbird cupcakes (my SIL's fave cake flavour), iced in creamed cheese frosting 6. layered jelly - cola, mango and lime 7. baby shower welcome sign I pegged to the front door to welcome the guests 8 mini banoffee cases We were so lucky with the weather - it was a perfect sunny day so we could all enjoy sitting outside eating great food, playing great games with great people. She got lots of wonderful gifts too. A lot were along the lines of the jungle theme. Goodluck Brad and Vanessa!! Not long to go now :) TraceyX

Yay!!! My brother and his wife are expecting their first baby in 7 weeks. The mother to be's best friend, my mum and myself are throwing her a jungle themed baby shower and these are the invitations I created for it... The invitation consists of a zebra striped pocket, wrapped in a green ribbon with a little onesie reading "no more monkeys jumpin' on the bed" pegged to the ribbon. Close up of the invitation insert. Close up view of the pocket and the little onesie pegged to the ribbon. I also created these matching envelope wraps. You may be wondering why the animals on these invitations are totally different colours to what they are supposed to be, ie: the giraffe is naturally orange, elephants are grey, lions are definately not blue and nor are leopards red. They are based on the wall art below which my sister in law has decorated the nursery wall with. Can't wait for the baby to arrive but in the mean time I have a baby shower to organise. TraceyXOn the weekend we celebrated a combined birthday for my husband (a parramatta eels supporter) and my nephew's 1st birthday (he loves his tigger teddy bear). This is the cake I created... It's a combined tigger and parramatta eels cake. TraceyXSadly a couple of weeks ago a close friend of my husbands lost his wife. I decided to bake him a cake rather than send flowers or a sympathy card. It's a chocolate cake layered and iced in a combination of milk and dark chocolate ganache and decorated with a simple fondant heart adorned with miniature flowers. He shared half with his mother in law and kept the half with the heart for himself. TraceyXBelow is a simple dessert table I created using a bow and the colour lemon as inspiration. The table consisted of... THE CAKE: Banana Supreme cake layered and iced in cream cheese frosting. COOKIES: Vanilla sugar cookies, lightly soaked in vanilla sugar syrup and decorated with fondant and an OH!!! flower MACARONS: Macadamia macarons, filled with spiced pumpkin buttercream and maple syrup JELLY DOTS: Layers of lemon, passionfruit and mango jelly cut into dots. TraceyXDecorated sugar cookie samples. Perfect for favors for weddings, engagements, baby showers, birthdays, etc. Can be fully customised to your requirements. Wait till you see what I used them for... TraceyXCheck these out!!! I am now addicted to creating jellies in all kinds of flavours, colours and shapes. Layers of strawberry, green apple, and purple grape flavoured jelly. DELICIOUS!!! and perfect for any dessert table these layered jellies can be custom designed to suit the theme of your event and cut into any shape you desire. TraceyXIt was my brother's birthday on the week and with turkish delight being his favourite I decided to make him some turkish delight macarons. These macarons are lightly dusted with pink lustre dust and filled with milk chocolate ganache and chunks of real turkish delight. TraceyXYesterday we held Anna's 6th birthday party. We had lots of family and a few friends from her class join us. She played teachers with her class friends most of the day and had lots of fun... We placed the blackboard at the front door. Anna ended up writing on it as I ran out of time. It's not exactly what she was supposed to write but "oh well"!!! First off we started with fruit break and little lunch. I was late taking the photos hence the half empty bowls. Fruit break is something they hold at my girls school halfway through class to encourage the children to eat a piece of fresh fruit each day. Our fruit break consisted of blueberries, watermelon and grapes. Little lunch was chips, pretzels and a vegetable and dip platter. Big lunch was then served (sorry no photos of big lunch). The best part of the day - the dessert table. This consisted of blackboard eraser slice, chocolate bark, mini apple cinnamon macarons... red apple cake pops... and of course the birthday cake. Created to match the invitations a blackboard with Miss Anna. A strawberry mud cake layered and iced in buttercream icing. Anna blowing out the candles on her cake!!! The children were all sent home with brown paper lunch bags filled with lollies. I created the name tags as a principles award after my 9 year old daughter received a principles award last week. Anna was supposed to sign each award but bugger I forgot to get her to do it. TraceyX |
